Sophia Büthe is a german contemporary artist living and working in the Eifel. She is focused on large paintings and explores her topics through dance. The bizarre form of Butoh-dance influenced essentially her gestural language. With her sensitivity for movement and color she creates paintings from outside experiences recorded to her inner body feeling. She composes her paintings in a variety of layers that draw the viewer into dense and vibrant color.
